Description
With less surface soil disturbance, strip tillage will retain organic material, reduce erosion and conserve fuel by only tilling the strip that is planted into. The Unverferth Raptor strip tillage tool was built for professional growers looking to take advantage of the benefits that strip tillage can provide. Pull-type models feature a front-folding toolbar and vertical-folding row units for narrow transport and compact storage. When applying fertilizer, the optional dry or liquid fertilizer systems are integrated into the rear of the machine for the best row unit visibility and easy filling. The ground-breaking TerrainPro2 row unit allows each row to travel up and down independently for the most consistent row-to-row tillage depth and fertilizer placement. The Raptor tool is the first all-in-one solution for strip-tillage and banding fertilizer and features greater operator visibility, easy filling when equipped with fertilizer and a row unit with unmatched performance.
- All-In-One Solution: The pull-type Unverferth Raptor strip tillage tool can be ordered with an integrated dry or liquid fertilizer system for banding fertilizer directly in the row during the strip tillage pass. Pull-type toolbars can also be ordered to just perform a strip-tillage pass along with 3-point mounted toolbars.
- Models: The Unverferth Raptor strip tillage tool can be ordered as a pull-type or 3-point mounted toolbar. ST models feature a pull-type designed toolbar without a fertilizer application system while MT models feature a 3-point mounted toolbar
- 3-Point: 3-point models are available as a 6-, 8- or 12-row machine with 30”, 36” or 38” row spacing and heavy-duty, double wall frame with a 6” x 6” rear mounting bar for maximum durability. The 3-point hitch connection provides a compact design for greater maneuverability and toolbar stabilizer wheels provide added stability and tool-free adjustment for quick and convenient depth control. 3-point models can be equipped with an optional flex frame kit for 12-row 36” and 38” folding models which allow the wings to float 15° above and 5° below horizontally to follow uneven terrain. Additional options for 3-point mounted toolbars include a rear hitch that can tow up to 14,000 lbs. gross vehicle weight with 1,000 lbs. of tongue weight and optional liquid or dry fertilizer shank attachments.
- TerrainPro2: The Raptor strip tillage tool features the innovative TerrainPro2 row unit that has been developed and tested in a wide range of soil types for consistent tillage depth and accurate fertilizer placement, when equipped.
- Free-Floating Design: Each row unit features independent parallel linkage, which allows it to free-float 7" upward and 4" downward to ensure that each shank runs at the same depth for consistent tillage and fertilizer placement.
- Lead Coulter: The 20" diameter lead coulter features 1,500 lbs. of down pressure to slice through the toughest soils and 6-bolt greaseable hubs with 5 layers of seal protection for long-term, trouble-free use. Free-floating 16.5" shark tooth row cleaners with 6-bolt hubs follow ground contours independently from the lead coulter and clear residue from the strip.
- Depth Control Wheel: Independent row unit depth is maintained by the 12.75" depth control wheel that runs between the row cleaners and the shank for consistent shank depth from row to row. The 12.75" diameter solid steel depth band wheel features a standard scraper to prevent mud, rocks and other debris from building up, allowing the operator to run in varying conditions.
- Strip Till Shank: The shank features tool-free depth adjustment from 4" to 10" deep and a convenient depth gauge which allows the operator to quickly and easily adjust each shank. The Raptor strip till tool is available with spring-cushioned auto-reset trip mechanism (Model 2130) with 2,000 lbs. of point load pressure or shear-bolt protected shank (Model 2115) with 5,000 lbs. of shear pressure. The Model 2130 is ideal for soil conditions with rocks while the 2115 model is ideal for use in rock-free soils. The replaceable 2 ¼" cast point and 1 ½" wide integrated wear bar provides long-term, trouble-free use. Replaceable shank wear plates are standard to protect the shank from abrasive soil.
- Closing Coulters: The 17" wavy blade closing coulters on each side of the shank keeps the soil in the path of the trailing basket. Each coulter floats independently from the other to keep constant ground contact through uneven terrain and utilize 6-bolt hubs with triple-lip seals for long-term, trouble-free use. Tool-free width and angle adjustment with automatic locking positions allow the operator to easily change the width of the strip and height of the berm. Spring down pressure and angle adjustment of the closing coulters provide quick and easy on the go strip-till enhancements.
- Conditioning Basket: The trailing 11" diameter crowfoot conditioning baskets break up clods, condition the berm and feature a unique design to prevent plugging with mud, rocks or other debris. Each crowfoot conditioning basket rolls independently from the other and features tool-free adjustable down pressure.
- Ideal Planting Strips: The TerrainPro2 row unit leaves a perfectly conditioned strip that warms quickly in the spring, reduces soil compaction and improves overall soil health.
- Banding for Greater Yield: DT models feature a dry fertilizer system, and LT models feature a liquid fertilizer system for pull-type Raptor models. 6- and 8-row 3-point models can be ordered with a pull-type dry fertilizer cart with a 4-ton tank. Unverferth offers an all-in-one solution from one manufacturer so you can quickly and accurately band your fertilizer in the row during the strip tillage pass.
- Fertilizer Carts: The fertilizer tank and undercarriage on pull-type models are located behind the toolbar for better row unit visibility from the tractor cab and easier filling from behind the machine. Both fertilizer systems feature a standard Raven RCM ISOBUS controller which allows the operator to control the rate from the tractor's virtual terminal screen. This system integrates with section control and pre-loaded field prescriptions. The undercarriage on both fertilizer systems features 380/90 x 46 dual wheels and tires maximize flotation and provide a stable ride during road transport.
